How did I get the shot?

Camera settings for this photo taken on a rainy morning: Canon R6, ISO 1250, f6.3, 1/1600 using Canon RF 100-500 mm at 159mm. On AV priority. The camera was positioned as low as possible (I was on my knees in a safari vehicle) and used the LCD screen as the viewfinder to view the subjects.

Supporting Lions

Beverly and Derek Joubert are the brainchild of World Lion Day , celebrated on August 10th. There are only 23,000 lions in the wild in Africa and the World Wildlife Foundation now classifies lions as a vulnerable population.
